Privacy Policy

• Account details: your name or artist name, email address, password (stored only as a one-way hash), and the roles you choose (artist, learner, venue).
• Profile and content: what you add to your profile, and the music, images, posts, lessons, courses and messages you upload or write.
• Purchases and memberships: what you bought, when, for how much, and your membership status. Card details go straight to Stripe; we never see or store your full card number.
• Teacher and seller payouts: if you sell on HMA, Stripe collects your identity and bank details for its own account with you. We only hold the Stripe account reference and whether payouts are enabled.
• Usage: pages visited, features used, rough location from your IP address, browser and device type, and error reports, so we can keep the Site working and improve it.
• Emails you send us and support conversations.

• Running your account, memberships and purchases, and paying teachers and sellers.
• Showing your profile and content on the Site as you have chosen to share it.
• Sending emails that are part of the service: confirming your address, receipts, membership changes, replies to your messages, and occasional news from the Academy (you can unsubscribe from news any time).
• Keeping the Site safe: stopping spam and bot signups, rate-limiting abuse, investigating problems.
• Understanding how the Site is used, in aggregate, so we can improve it.
• Meeting legal obligations, such as tax and accounting records.

We share personal information only with the companies that help us run the Site, and only what they need:

• Stripe for payments, memberships and payouts (Stripe has its own privacy policy and, for sellers, its own agreement with you).
• Google for email delivery and site analytics (Google Analytics, which uses cookies to measure visits in aggregate).
• Our hosting provider, where the Site and its database run.
• Other members see what you choose to make public: your profile, published tracks, posts and courses.
• Authorities, if the law requires it or to protect someone’s safety.

We never sell, rent or trade your personal information. We do not share it with advertisers or data brokers.

Your music, recordings, lessons and other content are yours. We will never use them to train, fine-tune or evaluate artificial-intelligence or machine-learning models, and we will never license or hand them to anyone else for that purpose. Where the Site uses AI-assisted features (for example, a helper inside a tool), your content is used only to give you that feature at that moment, not to teach a model.

• Essential: a session cookie keeps you logged in; a short-lived cookie remembers an affiliate link you arrived through.
• Preferences: your browser’s local storage remembers things like settings inside The Grove and tools you have opened.
• Analytics: Google Analytics cookies measure visits in aggregate. You can block them in your browser without affecting your account.

• Account and content: for as long as your account exists. When you close it, your profile and content are removed from the Site; backups clear within 90 days.
• Purchase and payout records: as long as tax and accounting law requires (generally seven years).
• Unconfirmed signups: deleted automatically after 7 days.
• Logs and analytics: usually 14 months or less.

• You can see and change your profile and content from your dashboard and Settings.
• You can close your account from Settings, or by emailing admin@holisticmusicacademy.com.
• You can ask us for a copy of the personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it, by emailing admin@holisticmusicacademy.com. We answer within 30 days.
• You can unsubscribe from news emails using the link in any of them. Service emails (receipts, confirmations) are sent as long as you have an account.
• Depending on where you live (for example, the EU, UK or California), you may have additional rights, including the right to complain to a privacy regulator. We honour them.

The Site runs over HTTPS, passwords are stored only as salted hashes, card details never touch our servers, and access to the database is limited to the people who run the Site. No system is perfectly secure; if we learn of a breach affecting your information, we will tell you without undue delay.

The Site is for people aged 16 and over. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone younger. If you believe a child has an account, email admin@holisticmusicacademy.com and we will remove it.

We may update this policy as the Site changes. If a change affects how we use your information, we will email you before it takes effect. The date at the top shows the current version.
